Sol de Janeiro recently sent me their Brazilian Glossy Nourishing Hair Oil ($34) to try out. Sol de Janeiro is a cruelty-free company and most of their products are vegan. Although they are considered to be cruelty-free, they do have a parent company that tests on animals. The hair oil is available at Sephora and the Sol de Janeiro website. Product Breakdown and Ingredients
The hair oil comes with 2 fl oz of product. It claims to enhance shine, fights frizz, and deeply moisturize.
Ingredients: Dimethicone, Phenyl Trimethicone, Coco-Caprylate, Parfum (Fragrance), Theobroma Grandiflorum (Cupuaçu) Seed Butter, Caryocar Brasiliense (Pequi) Fruit Oil, Oenocarpus Bataua (Patauá) Fruit Oil, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Tocopherol, Zea Mays (Corn) Oil, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Dimethiconol, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Salicylate, Hydroxycitronellal, Coumarin, Limonene, Cl 40800 (Beta-Carotene).
My Thoughts
I really love the scent of this oil. If you are familiar with Sol de Janeiro, it is the same scent as the Brazilian Bum Bum cream. My hair is bleached, color-treated, dry, and damaged. I had minimal tangles throughout the day and my hair was soft and shiny. If you have dry or damaged hair, I think you will really enjoy this hair oil.
